Pics from the Thanksgiving trip

Home safe! It's great to be on the couch with two happy kitties boinging around and even more food in our bellies. No Black Friday shopping today, and very easy travel. We had a nice lunch with Randy's parents before we left. We had a really nice Thanksgiving and visit.

Tomorrow I collect Mom from the airport on her way home from Egypt. Looking forward to seeing her and hearing some stories!

If you like Apples to Apples, you'll love Uno.

Meghan is an Uno-shark. She'll save up the multiple-draw and 'skip' cards then slam you to end the game. 2 or 3 player is a lot meaner than 4 or more with they way my girls play.

Mix in a drinking game or two (drink on reverse, drink on color changes, double drink on 'draw 4' etc.) and it can be a lot of fun without the kids.

Add the quarters rules, like Thumb Master, no pointing etc. and it gets stupid fast. Even the non-coordinated (Pam?) can play.

Where in SC where you? It looks warmer than here.

I loved the pictures! It looks as if you and everyone enjoyed your visit.
Poor Dusty. He is rather strange looking.I think that was my first sighting of any albino canine. Much obliged.

Telecommuting, and vacation plans

Telecommuting is awesome. The biggest upside to our company being bought 2 1/2 yrs ago is the ability to work from home. I don't abuse it and always get a lot more work done (no interruptions) and it's great for big projects. So, with yesterday's 9 incher, that's what I did. Randy works in downtown Boston and they said, hey, if you're not essential, don't come in. He didn't have brain surgery scheduled and neither did I (he's a regional VP and I'm a sales analyst), so we stayed home and did what we needed to get done. Yucky sloppy slop

I live near the coast, so instead of the 8"-to-10" of snow my neighbors to the west have the pleasure of cleaning up this fine evening, I had the unusual experience of shoveling and salting the sidewalks around the house, part of the driveway, and the stairs... IN THE DRIVING RAIN . It soaked my coat and hat all the way through. My boots are nice and drenched for tomorrow morning's commute. I can't recall a time when I have ever shoveled in the rain. It felt like 6" of snow, but was packed down to about 3" of yucky-dirty-heavy-brown-sloppy slop-slop waterlogged snow. Add to that the great joy of discovering that one of my neighbors hadn't scooped up after the dog. Nothing like throwing a nice heavy load with a nice load in it. Even though it's pouring down rain outside, it's about to deep freeze, so instead of spending 4 hours out there chopping at the ice like I did on Christmas Eve, I decided I'd rather sleep tomorrow morning. NYC Trip

Weekend in New York...my early birthday present from Randy (REALLY early, but what's time got to do with it when it's this great?!) We haven't been there together since the night Saddam Hussein was captured, so we were WELL overdue. I'm a huge Allman Brothers fan...love the music, love what it represents to me - great fun in the summertime and great times with my friends in bands past. The Holy Grail of Allman Brothers concerts is their annual run at the Beacon Theater in New York City. This year marks the 40th anniversary of this band. Yeah you might think Gregg Allman Marries Cher from the 70's and all that stuff, but these guys play freestyle, always mixing up the tunes and bringing in guests and just awesome on the stage. Anyway, Randy scored tickets (at face value no less), got us tickets for the Acela train, and a free stay at the Waldorf Astoria thanks to all his Hilton points. Pictures anyone?
