My plants in October

Some pics from my garden and deck. Can you believe it was Oct 21? I did lots of new planting last month in the dark shaded corner of the garden, shown in the first picture. I hope to have some pretty mountain laurel flowers every spring and some nice big hostas popping up shortly after they bloom. The impatiens in front can be whatever I want each year, since they die in the fall. Next year I want to make a big carpet of them-I didn't plant these until August.

The reason I took these is simple. It will brighten my day when it's dark at 4:30 and the snow is coming down.

Stunning. PS: If you can find some winter hardy pansies, they'll be among the first flowers to greet you next spring. Just don't plant them where the sun beats down in the summer.

The flowers are beautiful. Do you need to be born with a green thumb? I can not keep anything alive but New Guinea Impatients.

Go Red Sox.. hugh... who said that?

Here it's finally supposed to frost tomorrow night and Sunday night. My wife's plants have moved to the basement. My lawn is still green and needs mowed; the tulip tree is just beginning to turn. Tomorrow I'll be painting the eaves on my garage...

But there's no such thing as global warming!

:o)
